Carrier's Microsteam power system is a complete, compact self-contained power system designed to generate electric power from available steam energy. The Microsteam system environmentally sound solution creates savings through energy generation from a source that is often available but not used. Steam pressure energy that is usually lost in a pressure reducing valve (PRV) can be utilized by the Microsteam power system to generate electricity. Each additional 4 lb/hr of steam is now capable of generating 1 kWe of electricity that can be used to offset peak demand.
