Novation Heat Exchanger

Carrier’s Novation Heat Exchanger technology coils include microchannel technology for rooftop unit and air-cooled chiller condenser coils. Microchannel technology provides many performance and reliability benefits, which results in a more compact coil design with high coil and overall unit efficiencies. In addition, the surface of the coil is much more robust than a conventional round tube plate fin copper tube aluminum fin coil.

Microchannel coils utilize a series of flat tubes containing a series of multiple, parallel flow microchannels layered between the refrigerant manifolds. Microchannel coil construction consists of aluminum alloys for the fins, tubes and manifolds in combination with a corrosion resistant coating on the tubes.

  • Standard 3-year coil warranty
  • 0.3 fins/inch
  • 18 louvers per fin
  • 32 ports per tube (high ratio of internal wetted perimeter to flow area)
  • Double wall thickness on exposed tube edges
  • All aluminum coil
  • Furnace-brazed coil
  • Epoxy-lined shrink wrap protection of aluminum to copper tube joint
  • No galvanic corrosion between aluminum and copper materials
  • No traditional wear points such as between copper tubes and steel tube sheets
  • No fin combing
