What Is eDesign Suite ?
eDesign Suite is a collection of software programs created specifically for the HVAC system designer. These programs are tailored to increase productivity and accuracy, improve analysis capabilities and job documentation, and add a level of "marketability" to a designer's estimates. Individual programs are available to assist in peak load estimating, system design, building energy modeling, lifecycle cost analysis, and refrigerant piping design. These programs are written by HVAC system engineers for HVAC system engineers, and are supported by HVAC system engineers with years of field application experience.

eDesign Software Modules
HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) ($1495 US / $1540 Canadian)
NEW: HAP v4.80
HAP is a dual function program - full-featured load estimating and system sizing for commercial buildings plus versatile hour-by-hour energy and operating cost analysis. Thermal loads are calculated using the ASHRAE-endorsed Transfer Function load method. System components are sized using the System-Based Design concept, which applies the ASHRAE-endorsed Heat Extraction Methodology to link system performance to building thermal loads. Energy analysis uses full 8760 hours-per-year analysis to evaluate the operation of a wide variety of air handling and plant equipment. Operating costs are computed based on energy use and demand charges. A wide range of tabular and graphical outputs is available.

System Design Loads ($795 US / $820 Canadian)
NEW: System Design Load v4.80
Design load estimating and system sizing for commercial buildings. Load calculations use ASHRAE-endorsed Transfer Function methodology. System components are sized using the System-Based Design concept, which applies the ASHRAE-endorsed Heat Extraction Methodology to link system performance to building thermal loads. Specific system and component sizing for a wide variety of air-handling system types, with up to 100 zones per system. Includes a wide variety of graphical and tabular outputs.

Rapidly compares energy cost performance of HVAC system and equipment designs in commercial buildings. Supports applications in the schematic design phase of projects where multiple designs are being evaluated to identify one or a small group of alternatives with the most promising energy performance. Streamlined user interface allows analyses to be configured in minutes. Building System Optimizer is "powered by HAP" - calculations utilize HAP simulation engines to perform detailed hour-by-hour energy analysis for accuracy and credibility.

Combines a full-featured design load estimating program with a simplified user interface. Perfect for engineers and contractors who need to generate loads quickly. Provides all of the sizing and load information needed to design HVAC systems and select air conditioning equipment. Uses the same load calculation method as HAP and System Design Loads. Suitable for both single and multiple-zone projects.

Refrigerant Piping Design ($95 US / $100 Canadian)
Sizes suction, discharge and liquid refrigerant lines. Performs calculations for either steel or copper piping, and for refrigerants R-134a, R-22, R-502 and R-717. Sizes horizontal lines and single and double suction risers per the ASHRAE Refrigeration Handbook.

Engineering Economic Analysis ($95 US / $100 Canadian)
Tool used to compare the lifecycle economics of alternative designs for HVAC systems and buildings. The program permits four types of economic analysis studies to be performed (1) simple payback analysis, (2) simple cash flow analysis, (3) private sector lifecycle analysis, (4) public sector lifecycle analysis. All four are bundled in one seamlessly integrated package.
