Carrier brings together the expertise required to design, build, finance, own, manage and operate facilities. We have both the experience and performance record providing turnkey solutions such as combined heat and power plants; campus, healthcare, steam and chilled water plants; hotel and hospitality facilities; and mission critical sites to name a few.
Intention: at the initial client meeting sustainability goals and financial targets are established and a mutual commitment to work together is documented through a letter of intent.
Collaboration: the client’s short and long-term facility goals are first discussed. The team then conducts a comprehensive infrastructure analysis; outlining operational and maintenance cost savings opportunities; evaluating grants and funding sources; and outlining sustainable plans of action and project scope.
Strategic solutions: multiple solutions are discussed and defined, and project parameters determined..
Plan of action: the final project proposal is presented for client approval.
Implementation: the project is executed and commissioned.
Continuing partnership: The team works together on sustainability, service, operational solutions and savings audits.
Energy savings and reduced energy usage: With a Carrier energy solution, the end result is increased energy efficiency using state-of-the-art systems and equipment for the highest operating performance at the greatest savings.
Carrier fixed pricing: When designing an energy solution, Carrier provides an established price following the initial energy investigation and agreement on project scope. This approach guarantees the project price and does not allow project extras during implementation (unless changes or additions to scope are made). The pricing includes all costs to complete the project and maintain the energy savings. Maintenance agreements and training hours for on-site personnel are examples of costs that are included to ensure sustainable energy savings over time.
Single-source accountability: Carrier is the only entity you need to interface with for an energy project. The benefit is a turnkey solution -- one source for purchasing, project management, administration and accountability – streamlining the entire process.
Outside funding sources: Carrier experts can provide financing options to pay for energy projects. This capability allows for the execution of energy projects when internal capital funds may be limited. It also provides flexible options such as leasing or using off-balance sheet financing for projects instead of existing capital.
Grants and Incentives: Carrier has the expertise and knowledge on local, state and federal sources of funding for energy upgrades and acts on your behalf to apply for these as part of the project.
Partnership: Through this collaborative process you have input into which projects will be implemented, the priority of implementation and what types of equipment/systems will be used. Early involvement in each step of the process alleviates potential problems that may arise further into development. By partnering with Carrier, you minimize the need for in-house energy or construction expertise.
Guaranteed Energy Savings: An energy savings guarantee can often be attached to projects. This is an annual energy savings amount that Carrier guarantees will occur versus an agreed-upon baseline when the project is complete. If the project does not meet the savings, Carrier will pay the agreed-upon amount to cover the missed energy savings for a specified period of time. There are standard industry programs that Carrier uses to measure savings and report the results.
Faster Project Delivery: By partnering with Carrier – your single-source – you have more control of the project timeline for faster design and execution..
Best In Class Technology: You have direct input into the equipment and systems in your facilities to maximize reliability and efficiency. By specifying state-of–the-art equipment/systems up front, you can be assured the installation will meet your requirements. This is especially advantageous when a facility has standardized on a particular system or equipment and has a desire to continue that standardization.
Sustainable Energy Savings: Carrier system recommendations are designed to include operating practices that will provide sustainable energy savings. These practices may include operating equipment during low demand peaks and sequencing systems to maximize equipment life and minimize downtime.
Monitoring and Verification of Energy Savings: Before the project is implemented, Carrier experts will obtain baseline performance data of the systems to be upgraded. Continuous monitoring during and after the project ensures savings and operational practices are sustained.
Option for Contract to Build, Operate, and Maintain: Larger facility upgrades, such as a new mechanical room or central utilities plant, can be structured so that Carrier designs, builds, operates, and maintains the facility over a specified period of time. The advantage is a long-term fixed expense that can be built into operating budgets.
